Job summary

Federal Express Corporation seeks a senior facilities maintenance leader to ensure safe, reliable operation of facility infrastructure and conveyor/package handling equipment in Memphis. You will direct maintenance strategies, lead scheduling, manage vendors, and report to executives on performance and budgets.

You will develop and mentor teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive reliability initiatives across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and automation systems to support operations.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of conveyor systems, package handling equipment, and building automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance, planning, scheduling, and asset management principles.
  • Ability to analyze maintenance and operational performance data and develop actionable improvement plans.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver clear, concise, and accurate reports, presentations, and business recommendations for executive-level audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across Operations, Engineering, vendors, and executive leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the maintenance, repair, and reliability of facility infrastructure, conveyor systems, package handling equipment, and building automation systems.
  • Develops and executes preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize equipment availability and operational performance.
  • Leads maintenance planning and scheduling activities, including labor forecasting, work prioritization, outage coordination, and resource allocation.
  • Oversees the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, emergency power, and automated control systems.
  • Manages vendor relationships, service contracts, routine inspections, and emergency repair activities.
  • Collaborates with building owners, Operations leadership, Engineering, and senior management to develop budgets, capital plans, and facility improvement initiatives.
  • Analyzes operational and maintenance performance data and provides accurate reports, presentations, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of operational excellence.
  • Leads, develops, and mentors maintenance personnel to achieve performance, safety, and reliability objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Profile Summary

Responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility infrastructure, building automation systems, and conveyor/package handling equipment. Leads maintenance planning and scheduling, vendor management, asset reliability initiatives, and executive-level reporting to support operational and business objectives.

Essential Functions
  • Manages facilities in accordance with corporate standards, ensuring safe, professional, and customer-focused properties and facilities services.
  • Directs the maintenance, repair, and reliability of facility infrastructure, conveyor systems, package handling equipment, and building automation systems.
  • Develops and executes preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize equipment availability and operational performance.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline/equivalent or in Engineering.

Minimum Experience

Six (6) years experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, emergency power systems, building automation systems and/or package handling equipment.

  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, control logic, hydraulics, pneumatics, and technical specifications.
Job Conditions

Non-covered safety-sensitive position.

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Valid driver's license.

Third-shift position requiring flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate.

Pay Transparency

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors. Pay

US Pay Range: $7,094.23 - $12,533.14/month
