Job summary

The Shaw Group in Walker, LA seeks a Project Controls Manager to lead safety culture, manage subcontractors, and ensure on-time, on-budget deliveries. You will coordinate with the Clearfield team and oversee spool deliveries and cost updates.

Responsibilities include setting schedules, preparing cost reports, leading weekly meetings, handling change orders, and maintaining MDR documents. A 5–10 year background in project controls with a high school diploma or GED and related training is required.

  • Determine and implement project schedules and cost accounting procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports and costing audits.
  • Manage subcontractors to meet on-time and on-budget deliveries.
  • Lead weekly client and subcontractor meetings and issue MOM.
  • Monitor change orders and project risk.
  • Ensure MDR documents are submitted and approved on time.
  • Coordinate with Shaw Clearfield team for spool deliveries.

Job description

Summary

Leads Safety Culture/Requirements and ensure no Incidents on the project and work closely with Subcontractors / Project team. Manage the key Subcontractors (CTIW and ME& I Construction Services) to ensure deliveries are on time and within budget. Ensure No Change Orders from Subcontractors, apart from unit rate tonnage changes. Manage/Interface with Shaw?s Clearfield team to ensure Pipe spools deliveries are on time (and within project ). Manage the project Cost (update monthly pricing with updates tonnages) with timely invoicing to the Client. Schedule management including guidance / preparation / monitoring of schedule. Prepares cost reports and weekly / monthly progress reports. Leads Client and Subcontractors weekly meeting, including issuance of MOM. Manages all the Change Orders (if any) for the Project. Leads Project Risk and Opportunities reviews. Maintain Client Satisfaction throughout the Project phase. Other duties may also be assigned.

  • Ensures all MDR (Master Document Register) documents by Shaw and Subcontractors are submitted /approved on time.
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion.
  • Coordinates work activities with other team members.
  • Manages professional employees and/or supervisors; may manage business support, technical or production staff.
  • Has accountability for managing financial resources.
  • Provides technical guidance to employees.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), with additional specialized training or college course work and 5 ? 10 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Physical Requirements

Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
