Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Senior Subject Matter Expert / Program Manager to support the SAOC program, including cost, schedule, and technical performance across multiple sites.

The role requires an Active TS clearance, extensive program management experience on complex programs, and leadership to drive growth and customer engagement in a high-stakes defense environment.

Qualifications

• 8 years progressive experience with a Bachelor's in related field, or 6 years with a Master's, or 12 years with HS diplôme/equivalent.
• Previous Program Management Experience for large, complex programs.
• Active TS Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full profit and loss of a large, complex program and ensure alignment with objectives and contractual requirements.
• Lead cross-site coordination with customers and multiple subcontractors to execute plans.
• Lead program reviews, discuss progress, risks, financial performance and technical achievements.

Role

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Subject Matter Expert / Program Manager to support the SAOC Mission Systems, 0-5/Materiel Leader in program activities, program review sessions, and overall cost, schedule and technical performance. The E-4C Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) is a United States Air Force program to develop a replacement for the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC), a strategic command-and-control military aircraft used as a mobile command post for the National Command Authority in emergency situations.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the full profit and loss performance of a large, complex program. Oversees all phases of program execution from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and contractual requirements. Manages relationships with multiple customers and leads the development and execution of plans involving several subcontractors.
Provides leadership for a program headquartered at a primary location while coordinating activities across remote sites, diverse business functions, and a broad workforce, including management-level employees. Program scope may involve emerging or advanced technologies.
Accountable for cost, schedule, and technical performance, serving as the primary customer interface for all program activities. Leads regular program reviews to discuss progress, risks, financial performance, and technical achievements. Identifies and resolves program issues, including resource allocation challenges and needed adjustments to contractual specifications or planning baselines.
Drives business growth by developing new opportunities or expanding existing customer engagements. Establishes program milestones, monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, and ensures timely execution across technical, manufacturing, and administrative domains. Provides clear direction and leadership to personnel supporting the program, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high-performance results.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
• Previous Program Management Experience for large, complex programs
• Active TS Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on SAOC programs

Physical Requirements

Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
