Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. seeks a Manager of Operations to lead a focused area of manufacturing. You will ensure metrics are met for productivity, quality, delivery, safety, and cost while driving continuous improvement and standard work across the line.

You will staff shifts, hire and retain shop floor leaders, maintain performance systems, and collaborate with multiple teams to meet customer needs and growth initiatives. Strong lean/Six Sigma experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field is required.
• Alternative: HS Diploma/GED with 8+ years of manufacturing experience and supervisory experience.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall management of a focused area of operations at a production site.
• Adhere to metrics for productivity, quality, delivery, safety, and costs, and report performance.
• Pursue continuous improvement, document standard work, promote 5S, and maximize productivity.
• Ensure staffing for shifts with headcount planning and forecasting.
• Hire and retain shop floor employees, supervisors, and leaders within the operations system.
• Maintain performance measurement systems and output.
• Address customer critical factors, corrective actions for quality, and disruption issues.
• Foster a positive, productive team environment to ensure quality service.
• Coordinate with production control, logistics, and various teams to support demand and growth.
• Support talent development, performance objectives, and onboarding of new hires.

Its vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overall management of a focused area of operations of a production site.
• Adhere to established weekly/monthly/annual metrics to support operation productivity, quality, delivery, safety, cost, employee morale and operations systems including report out of performance.
• Responsible for continuous improvement, developing best practices/benchmarking, documenting standard work, promoting 5S activities, and ensuring highest possible levels of productivity.
• Ensure focus areas are appropriately staffed for shifts and operations with headcount analysis, demand planning, and forecasting.
• Responsible for hiring and retention of shop floor employees, supervisors, and leaders in the operations system.
• Maintain performance measurement system, metrics, and output.
• Understand customer critical success factors and initiate corrective actions for process quality, internal ppm, service back orders, and assembly line disruptions.
• Ensure quality service by fostering a positive, productive team environment.
• Communicate with production control, logistics, assembly team, fabrication team, engineering, and parts and accessories to support production demand, growth initiatives and customer service.
• Foster talent development by supporting career path planning, management of performance objectives, engagement, training, and onboarding of new hires.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field required, OR in lieu of degree a HS Diploma/GED and 8 or more years of experience required.
• Years of Experience: 4 or more years of experience with degree, OR 8 or more years’ experience with HS Diploma/GED, manufacturing experience with supervisory experience preferred
• Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office Applications, SAP, inventory management systems
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma preferred
