Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Advanced Solutions Team conceives original ideas for new products, develops these ideas into product solutions, and introduces them into practice. The team is responsible for product concept development, qualification from market definition through transfer to production, testing on new and modified designs, detailed design support, prototype fabrication, verification testing, and documentation including 3D models, drawings, specifications, and testing requirements. They work across fields such as materials, mechanics, electrical, optics, chemistry, packaging, testing, manufacturing, and system integration.

  • Develop and support the engineering team’s strategy and implementation plans.
  • Mentor and enable the design team, removing roadblocks and fostering collaboration.
  • Impact operational efficiencies and organizational objectives with measurable results.
  • Manage schedules and performance standards.
  • Assess risk and ensure compliance within projects.
  • Lead a diverse, geographically dispersed team of engineers with independence in their tasks.
  • Resolve key issues impacting the Advanced Solutions Team.
  • Analyze situations considering business trends, technical, and manufacturing factors.
  • Decide on the best course of action to meet schedules and solve technical problems.
  • Innovate by departing from traditional approaches to enhance performance and speed to market.
  • Engage with multiple organizational levels and external partners such as customers and suppliers.
  • Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering or related fields, 10+ years of product development experience, and 3+ years in engineering management.
  • Preferred experience in connector and cable assembly industry, full product development cycle, and knowledge of CAD & CAE tools like Creo, SpaceClaim, Ansys Mechanical.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability, and signal integrity principles is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and global collaboration skills are essential.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $162,000 – $203,000 (dependent on location and experience)
  • Includes incentives and benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), disability, life insurance, stock purchase plan, paid time off, voluntary benefits.
