Job summary

Flexsteel Industries Inc. is seeking a Global Sourcing professional to bridge commodity and component strategies between Asia-based suppliers and Mexico manufacturing.

You will identify and develop sourcing strategies to ensure cost, quality, lead time, and supply continuity, while mitigating risks across foam, plywood, motors, and other components. The role requires managing supplier relationships, contracts, and KPIs to optimize total cost of ownership, and collaborating with Product

Qualifications

• Global sourcing experience across regions, especially Asia and Mexico.
• Strong supplier relationship management and performance tracking (KPIs/scorecards).
• Experience negotiating contracts and driving total cost of ownership improvements.
• Collaboration with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, and SIOP.
• Ability to drive supplier quality and on-time delivery across a supplier base.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

• Act as a key liaison bridging commodity and component sourcing strategies between Asia-based suppliers and Mexico manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment on cost, quality, lead time, and supply continuity.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop global sourcing strategies to secure reliable supply of raw materials and components while mitigating supply chain risks, such as foam, plywood, motors.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, including contract negotiation, performance management (KPIs/scorecards), and continuous improvement to optimize total cost of ownership, quality, and service levels.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, and SIOP to support new product introduction (NPI), drive strategic growth initiatives, and ensure successful product launches.
• Accountable for supplier quality and on-time delivery performance across assigned suppliers. Establish performance expectations, monitor key metrics, lead corrective action and recovery plans, and partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive sustainable improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers to support innovation and NPI projects, including contract negotiations, supplier visits, capability assessments, and new supplier onboarding.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required to support supplier development, sourcing initiatives, and project execution.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree is required, (Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field)

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

5-7 Years Of Related Work Experience Is Required.

Demonstrated sourcing experience with global suppliers, particularly in Asia and Mexico
