Job summary

North Campbell Community Hospital in Jellico, TN is hiring an EVS Manager to lead the environmental services team, ensuring clean, safe, and compliant facilities across the hospital.

Under the supervision of Plant Operations, the EVS Manager will schedule staff, manage budgets, train on cleaning techniques, and uphold health and safety regulations, while coordinating with nursing and hospital personnel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist and ensures accurate and timely reporting of department payroll.
• Prepares equipment room requisitions and submits to leader.

• Maintains inventory of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment and inspects all for wear and replacement.
• Cross trained in all areas of the department to act as fill-in or help as needed.
• Plans and directs staffing assignments and manages labor hours within budget.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of the department and staff.
• Assist in developing departmental policies and procedures and total quality management.

General Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Plant Operations Supervisor, the EVS Manager will supervise, develop, implement and maintain departmental policies and procedures. The manager will be responsible for overseeing and scheduling the EVS staff. Assist with ensuring compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist and ensures accurate and timely reporting of department payroll.
• Prepares equipment room requisitions and submits to leader.
• Instructs personnel in use of new equipment, cleaning techniques/ methods, and cleaning agents.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment and Inspects all for wear, tear, and replacement and prepares requisitions for maintenance or replacement.
• Cross trained in all areas of the department in order to be able to act as fill-in or help as needed.
• Plans and directs individual staffing assignments; flexes down on labor hours as necessary.
• Maintains labor hours in accordance with departmental budget.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of your department.
• Provide appropriate directions and guidance to staff.
• Assist the leader in the annual employee job performance evaluations process.
• Delegates responsibilities to designated staff.
• Assist in developing departmental policies and procedures.
• Assists in the departmental Total Quality Management Plan.
• Communicates with nursing and other hospital personnel to facilitate procedures as needed.
• Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Represents oneself, department and hospital in a positive manner.
• Perform other duties as required.

Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

Must possess good leadership and organizational skills. Good written and verbal communication. Three to five years of experience as supervisor in a hospital or similar institution. Previous management experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Works in a clean, ventilated, well lighted, heated, air-conditioned facility.

Physical Requirements / Demands:

• Working irregular hours including call hours
• Physically demanding, high-stress environment
• Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions
• Pushing and pulling heavy objects
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
• Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing
