Schaeffler is seeking a Director - Business Unit in Auburn Hills, MI to define business development strategy and manage P&L for the assigned BU. You will direct the BU organization, set objectives and budgets, and monitor progress against goals.

You will observe market trends, steer product portfolio development, and ensure strong marketing concepts and regional market penetration. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; master's preferred.
• 10+ years in automotive industry experience.
• Experience leading in a global, matrixed organization.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

The Director - Business Unit defines business development strategy, manages ongoing business operations and takes overall P&L responsibility for a Business Unit assigned.

• Direct the BU organization, and establish business objectives, related budgets and criteria for monitoring progress and measuring success.


• Observe and analyze market trends (with respect to technology, products, competitors), and set the direction for the development of the product portfolio.


• Ensure implementation of appropriate marketing concepts, and monitor market penetration in each regional, product or application related market.


• Ensure an appropriate and effective customer service, from a technical and commercial perspective.


• Foster an innovative environment, and lead as well as develop the employees assigned.


• This position must provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with Schaeffler policies and procedures as well as assist employees in setting goals.


• This position must lead employees by creating training and development plans, coaching employees, and providing feedback regarding employee performance, quality, and safety.


• The individual will be required to mentor and empower their employees to foster a team environment and have strong conflict management skills, be able to maintain employee work schedules and manage multiple projects at once, and have the ability to make quick, effective decisions.


• Since this individual will interface frequently with both local and international Schaeffler associates, as well as with external customers, excellent communication skills are critical.


• This position is required to know and understand the current specifications and procedures of the Quality Policy as well as the Safety and Environment Policy.


• This position is expected to abide by Schaeffler's Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures while contributing to the achievement of company goals and objectives.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree - Engineering


• Master's Degree (preferred).


• 10+ years of automotive experience.


• Project Management experience preferred.


• Minimum 5 years of leading business in a global, matrixed organization..


• Minimum 5 years of leading & developing teams.


• Excellent communication and presentation skills verbal and written.


• External must be authorized to work in the United States without employment visa or other sponsorship.
