Job description

Provides health care services to assist in diagnosis or treatment.

Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Knowledge of radiographic procedures, equipment operation, radiation safety, positioning techniques
2. Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects
3. Ethical and professional conduct
4. Good understanding of age-related developmental issues of pediatrics and geriatrics
5. Flexibility to work overtime as needed, including on-call duty and weekend rotations
6. Interest in participating in orientation/clinical education of student radiographers in accordance with clinical education center guidelines for radiologic technology programs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma (or equivalent). Three years of Central Sterile Supply Processing experience with demonstrated leadership skills. IAHCSMM certification or by 12 months of hire date.

Education, experience, licensure, technical skills, other:

• Graduate of Certificate Program in Radiography or Associate in Science Degree
• One to three years experience preferred but not required
• Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in radiography
• Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in Radiography
• For recent radiologic technology graduates: ARRT registered certification eligibility in Radiography with RT(R); must obtain certification within 12 months of hire and before the expiration of a temporary Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist license.
• BLS required.
