Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a skilled MFM Ultrasound Technologist to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine team in New Bedford, MA. You will perform specialized obstetric imaging, assess fetal anatomy, and educate patients on procedures. The role requires ARDMS certification in OBGYN, BLS, and at least two years of MFM experience. A sign-on bonus is offered.

The position is day shift, with a 24–32 hour flex schedule, and requires consistent adherence to safety and documentation standards in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• ARDMS certification in OBGYN required.
• NT (Nuchal translucency) certification required within 6 months.
• ARDMS registration required within 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of two years of Maternal Fetal Medicine experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diversified clinical patient care and imaging under supervision.
• Position patients and select imaging equipment and protocols to produce quality images.
• Educate patients for exams and document findings in the EHR.
• Assist physicians during procedures and ensure patient safety.

*$8,000 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)*

Hours: 24 flex 32hrs

Shift: Day shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Location: New Maternal Fetal Medicine Practice - New Bedford, MA

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient's chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Assist physicians in performing procedures.

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and attainment of certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in OBGYN
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine is required.
• NT (Nuchal translucency) certification is required within 6 months.
• Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is required within 6 months.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
