Job summary

Sutter Gould Med Foundation seeks a Diagnostic Sonographer to perform OB and MFM ultrasound studies, including anatomy surveys across all trimesters, with support from preceptors. Responsibilities include nuchal translucency, fetal echocardiography, Doppler, and biophysical profiles, plus assisting with invasive procedures and report preparation.

Required ARDMS OB and BLS/ACLS certifications. Strong knowledge of sonography principles and EHR systems is essential for accurate, timely patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited sonography program (verification not required for those possessing ARDMS)

Responsibilities

• Perform OB and MFM ultrasound exams including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester anatomy surveys
• Conduct nuchal translucency, fetal echocardiogram, Doppler, and biophysical profile assessments
• Assist with invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and prepare accurate reports

Position Overview:

Performs diagnostic Obstetric and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) sonography procedures to assess fetus organs, female reproductive organs, and hemodynamics in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with policies, values, and mission of the organization. Responsible for commonly performed Obstetric procedures with consistent proficiency. Differentiating the abnormal structures from the normal structures. Performs the following exams with some support from preceptor and colleague:

• 1st trimester, 2nd trimester, and 3rd trimester Anatomy survey
• Nuchal translucency
• Twins, Monochorionic/Monoamniotic, Monochorionic/Diamniotic, Dichorionic/Diamniotic
• Twins anatomy survey and follow up
• Fetal Echocardiogram
• Doppler evaluation
• Biophysical profile
• Assisting invasive procedures, amniocentesis
• Prepping the report

Job Description:

EDUCATION:

• Graduate of an accredited sonography program (verification not required for those possessing ARDMS)

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

• ARDMS (OB)

• OR ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• General knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, and views as well as the operation and maintenance of imaging equipment.
• Capable of performing routine sonographic examinations as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Possess solid written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
• Good time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadline.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS).
• Work under close supervision or within clearly defined procedures to complete assignments within established timeframes.
• Use existing procedures to identify and solve routine or standard problems.
• Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
• Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Pay Range is $64.68 to $90.54 / hour

The posted pay range is based on the position's primary work location. Candidates who reside and work outside of that location may be subject to a different pay range based on their work location.
