Job summary

Atkore in Kokomo, IN is seeking a MFG Setup Technician for first shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm) with a 10% quarterly incentive. You will set up production machines according to scheduling and report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, experience with machine setup and operation, and the ability to read blueprints. Forklift certification is preferred. You will participate in lean activities and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with machine setup and operation.
• Experience in steel manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals is preferred.
• Forklift certification is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up production machines based on scheduling and keep them running efficiently.
• Perform pre-operation activities to ensure proper startup on multiple machines.
• Work 8-hour shifts with overtime as needed.
• Assist team members with technical issues and troubleshooting.
• Operate/monitor equipment to ensure quality production and minimize downtime.
• Perform tool and die changes for all machines.
• Follow safety controls and PPE requirements; participate in lean and 5S activities.
• Read blueprints and communicate with teams to ensure continuous production of correct product.
• Log changeovers and prep between shifts; maintain standard work practices.
