Job summary

Springdale Ice Cream and Beverage in Cincinnati, OH, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to install, maintain and repair plant equipment and utilities. You will use machine tools, troubleshoot failures, complete work orders, and support predictive and preventative maintenance while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, ability to work with electrical, welding, and PLC systems, and the capacity to operate in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with GMP

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in electrical, welding and fabrication, utilities, and basic PLCs.
• Basic computer use and ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, structures, and pipe and electrical systems in the facility.
• Set up and use machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill press and milling machine to repair or fabricate parts.
• Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facility equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Complete assigned work orders and unplanned/emergency tasks as required.
• Maintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to complete daily, weekly, monthly duties.
• Operate material handling equipment safely.
• Document work order information/completion.
• Provide support to team in the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
• Participate and actively support all plant initiatives such as minimizing downtime and plant optimization.

About The Job

Perform tasks related to preventative maintenance, mechanical machine repairs, inspection and testing of equipment, building maintenance and specific projects. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Qualifications

Minimum:

• Strong attention to detail with high degree of accuracy and precision.
• Proficient mechanical knowledge and skills one or more of the following maintenance classifications: electrical, welding and fabrication, utilities, and basic PLCS.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong sense of urgency during periods of downtime.
• Team player with positive attitude.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Self-motivated and self-directed; ability to organize and define tasks with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer use, knowledge and skills.
