Job summary

ReSound is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support production and calibration equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with Engineering on equipment improvements. You will troubleshoot process issues, diagnose device and equipment failures, and participate in CAPA and audit actions as needed.

A strong sense of urgency and adherence to regulatory requirements are essential in this production environment.

Job description

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for all production and calibration equipment used within production operations. Key responsibilities include calibrations, preventive maintenance, equipment training, and collaboration with Engineering to identify and implement next-generation equipment solutions and improvements to existing assets.

This role supports production by troubleshooting process issues, diagnosing device and equipment failures, and implementing process improvements. The technician actively participates in technical diagnostics, root cause analysis, validation execution, and change implementation.

A strong sense of urgency is essential, with the ability to quickly prioritize and respond to critical production needs. The role also requires strict adherence to all compliance and regulatory requirements, including participation in CAPA and audit action plan execution as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Lead by example living our core operational values: Listen, Challenge, Transform, Care and Commit.
  • Develop oneself to obtain a robust understanding of production procedures and tasks, including 3D printing of production components, electric assembly of devices, service and repair activities, shipping, and electrical/acoustical testing.
  • Collaborate on new equipment/process implementation, and execution of improvements on existing equipment/processes.
  • Represent Manufacturing Engineering Team to other teams in operations, serving as a liaison for process improvements, production activities, and data acquisition of failure modes and device/process analysis.
  • Participate in deploying facility layout changes, as required.
  • Lead and oversee rework efforts, as required.
  • Perform quality checks on devices.
  • Identify and drive improvement efforts to support cost, quality, delivery, and safety initiatives.
  • As needed, collect and trend data on returned products and process failures, and provide recommendations to engineering team on process improvements to address root causes.
  • Proactively identifies growth and development opportunities within their role both technical and professional and drives for continual improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Competencies
  • 1-3 years of equipment experience in a production environment with assembly; prefer electronics experience.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required, including data acquisition and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and people skills required.
  • Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desired Qualifications

Required Education: 2-year Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, Engineering or equivalent work experience and knowledge.

Experience
  • Understanding of LEAN methodologies and applying such tools to operations.
  • Hearing or medical device experience 1-3 years of equipment experience in a production environment with assembly Electronic assembly, firmware management, 3D printing systems, UV cure systems, acoustical test systems, laser marking 1-3 years of experience working in a regulated environment (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, FDA QSR)
  • Experience with data acquisition/analysis, and demonstrated ability for fact-based decision-making leveraging analytics

  • Limited travel as needed by project. 0-1 weeks annually.

Pay Transparency Notice

Total annual compensation for this position includes a competitive base pay, along with performance-based commissions that reward you for your contributions to the company’s success. Depending on your work location, the hourly pay for this position may range from $30.00 - $33.00 hourly rate. Compensation for roles at GN depend on a wide array of factors including but not limited to location, role, skill set, and level of experience. To remain competitive, GN offers a competitive benefits package, including annual bonuses, health insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off and paid holidays.
