Job summary

Bell Flight is seeking a Manufacturing Process Planner in Fort Worth, Texas. Applicants should have strong experience in aircraft manufacturing and process planning, especially regarding GD&T tolerances. Ideal candidates must be proficient in ERP/MRP and CAD software.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, administer effective allocation of manufacturing resources for process planning creation and maintenance.
  • Responsible for BOM consumption, Computer Aided Planning (CAP) routing creation, and manufacturing item orders for manufacturing operations in Bell business systems.
  • When a Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) model exists, create and maintain manufacturing instructions (drawings & modeling).
  • Have knowledge of shop production and processing operations.
  • Work in accordance with management strategies and concepts as well as program and departmental processes and procedures using Bell Business Systems.
  • May train one or more employees.
  • Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, models, bills of materials, technical specifications, quality documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures to perform assigned work.
  • Manage accurate BOM consumption for manufacturing operations.
  • Create and maintain proper work sequence documentation and CAP routings.
  • Create manufacturing item orders/requests, including NC programs, tools/fixtures, and gages.
  • Provide process planning support to manufacturing operations through production order maintenance, tool maintenance requests, and other planning liaison functions.
  • Create and maintain dimensional charts, manufacturing instructions (text‑based and 2D/3D format), material‑operation diagrams, and ply tables as required.
  • Work with Loft, Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing, and Planning processes and procedures.
  • Apply GD&T/Aerospace tolerances to support producibility assessments when requested.
  • Maintain records and schedules of assigned work, meeting company cost‑control standards and schedule/qualify requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
  • Maintain strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct, instruct, and validate Production Engineering work.
  • Attend training and complete competency‑based testing required by management to remain current with technological advancements.
Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of college coursework or two (2) years of experience in the aircraft industry or completion of a related Bell apprentice program.
  • Demonstrated capability to perform essential functions related to GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
  • Experience in technical writing or technical writing in an aerospace/manufacturing environment.
  • Computer proficiency in planning software, Microsoft Office Suite, ERP/MRP software, tool design repositories, and CAD software.
  • Preferred experience in manufacturing composite or metallic materials.
  • Preferred experience with machined parts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
