Job summary

Textron Fort Worth seeks an Mfg Eng Resource Planner III to allocate manufacturing resources for process planning and maintenance. You will manage BOM consumption, CAP routing creation, and manufacturing orders for Bell manufacturing operations.

When MCAD models exist, you’ll create and maintain manufacturing instructions, drawings, and modeling. You will train others and use Bell Business Systems to support producibility and cost targets.

Qualifications

  • Two years college or two years in aircraft industry or completed related Bell apprentice program.
  • Demonstrated capability to apply GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
  • Experience in technical writing in aerospace/manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in planning software, ERP/MRP, CAD software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Interrogate, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and process frameworks to perform assigned work.
  • Maintain accurate BOM management and consumption for manufacturing operations.
  • Create and maintain CAP routings and manufacturing item orders/requests (NC programs, tools/fixtures, Gages).
  • Provide process planning support through production order maintenance and tooling requests.
  • Develop dimensional charts, manufacturing instructions, and ply tables; maintain MCAD model related docs.

Description
  • Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, Mfg. Eng. Resource Planner III is responsible for administering effective allocation of manufacturing resources for process planning creation and maintenance.
  • Responsible for BOM consumption, Computer Aided Planning (CAP) routing creation and manufacturing items orders for manufacturing operations in Bell business systems.
  • When a Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) model exists, responsible for creation and maintenance of manufacturing instructions (drawings & modeling).
  • Must have knowledge of shop production and processing operations.
  • Work in accordance with management strategies and concepts as well as program and departmental processes and procedures using Bell Business Systems.
  • May train one or more employees.
Worked Performed:
  • Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work.
  • Responsible for accurate BOM management and consumption for manufacturing operations.
  • Create and maintain proper work sequence documentation and CAP routings.
  • Responsible for creating manufacturing items orders/requests including but not limited to NC Programs, Tools/Fixtures, and Gages.
  • Provide process planning support to manufacturing operations through production order maintenance, tool maintenance requests, and various other planning liaison functions.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining applicable dimensional charts, manufacturing instructions (text based and 2D/3D format), material operation diagrams and ply tables as required.
  • When a Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) model exists, responsible for creation and maintenance of manufacturing instructions (drawings & modeling).
  • Working knowledge of Loft, Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing and Planning processes and procedures
  • Skilled in the concept related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances Supports producibility assessments when requested.
  • Maintains records and schedules of work assigned. Will meet established company cost control standards, schedule and qualify requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
  • Execute strong communication skills, both verbal and written, required to communicate and interact between internal and external customers.
  • Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct, instruct, and check/validate Production Engineering work.
  • Required to attend training and complete competency-based testing as required by management to remain current with technological advancements.
Qualifications
Experience & Other Requirements:
  • Two (2) years college or two (2) years of experience in the aircraft industry or completed related Bell apprentice program.
  • Demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing or experience utilizing technical writing in an aerospace/manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in planning software, Microsoft Office Suite, ERP/MRP software, tool design repositories, and CAD software.
  • Preferred demonstrated experience in manufacturing composite or metallic materials.
  • Preferred experience in machined parts.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
