Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking technicians to support full-scale production of Leo satellites in Washington state. You will assemble and test high-precision aerospace components and LRUs, following strict safety procedures.

The role requires handling test equipment, calibration, and coordinating shipments while contributing to process improvements. The position includes 4/10 shifts with varying start times and potential overtime.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment or relevant trade school certification.
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (Calipers, multimeters, torque wrenches).
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that validate the system.
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Assemble and test LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds.
  • Participate in process improvements and maintain floor stock inventory.
  • Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables.
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance.
  • Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations.
  • Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Support preventative maintenance on test equipment and data acquisition systems.
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients.
  • Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures.

Key job responsibilities
  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
  • You will independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
  • Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
  • Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
  • Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures
Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50 / hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. This information is provided per the Washington State Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via Amazon’s internal or external careers site.

Additional Requirements
  • Willing to work 4 / 10s as assigned:
    • 1st shift : 6:00 am - 4:30 pm PST (Sun - Wed) OR
    • 1st shift : 6:00 am - 4:30 pm PST (Wed- Sat) OR
    • 2nd shift: 5:00pm - 3:30am PST (Sun -Wed ) OR
    • 2nd shift: 5:00pm - 3:30am PST (Wed - Sat)
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Flexible working/commuting in between site locations Redmond, WA and Kirkland, WA
  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to lift-up to 25lbs. unassisted
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
  • CFOT certification or equivalent experience Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
  • ASE certification or equivalent experience Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Expert knowledge and certification in rigging and lifting equipment.
  • Experience in rigging and lifting equipment inspection and maintenance.
  • Experience rigging related safety measures.
