Job summary

Amazon Leo in Redmond, WA is seeking technicians for full-scale production of Leo satellites. You will assemble, test, and document LRUs and avionics with a strong emphasis on precision and quality to meet demanding aerospace standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with hand tools and test equipment, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. US export control eligibility applies.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year in a high traceability manufacturing environment or related trade school certification.
  • 1+ year using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches).
  • 1+ year working with test tools and test methods that validate the system.
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation/drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Participate in process improvements and maintain floor stock inventory
  • Independently execute and prioritize work to meet deliverables
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing
  • Champion safety requirements in all zones and work locations
  • Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Support preventative maintenance on test equipment and data acquisition systems
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries
  • Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures

We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Leo satellites. Key job responsibilities
  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
  • You will independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
  • Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
  • Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)
  • Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures
Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications:
  • - 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
  • - 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
  • - 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
  • - Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
Preferred Qualifications:
  • - Experience in Space Vehicle/Satellite Operations, Space Communications or related industry
  • - Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license - CFOT certification or equivalent experience
  • - Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
  • - ASE certification or equivalent experience
  • - Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
  • - Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • - Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
  • - Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
