Job summary

Calance is seeking a Metrology Technician – Stamping for an onsite Georgetown, KY assignment. The role requires hands-on measurement of stamping dies and panels, analyzing data, and supporting NAMC die repair initiatives.

You will work with precision measurement systems and report findings to stamping PE and D/M. Ideal candidates hold an engineering or technical degree with 2+ years in metrology, and are comfortable interviewing in person.

• Hands-on with Hexagon, FaroArm or similar systems.
• Knowledge of PolyWorks with blue light/ATOS/Faro operation.
• Education: High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Measure stamping dies and panels to assess quality and formability.
• Measure PxP and nominal fit vehicle analyses.
• Analyze data and advise Stamping PE and D/M on next steps.
• Scan dies and mesh data for NAMC die repair and prep.

Job Details

Position: Metrology Technician – Stamping

Duration: 12+ Months (On-going Contract)

Location: ONSITE - Georgetown, KY 40324

Pay Rate: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour (W2 Only)

Must be LOCAL or willing to RELOCATE at your own expense

This is role is 100% ONSITE, no remote work offered

HOURS: MON-FRI 7am-4pm (ET)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform measurements of stamping dies, identify gaps to target.
• Perform measurements of stamping panels and sub-assemblies to determine statistical stamped panel quality for accuracy and formability.
• Perform measurements for PxP and nominal fit vehicle analysis.
• Use technical expertise to analyze measurement data and make appropriate recommendations to Stamping PE and D/M on next steps.
• Scan completed dies and mesh data for utilization for NAMC die repair and copy die preparation.

Required Skills/Experience

• Engineering degree or other technical degree or min 2 yrs experience in field of metrology.
• Must be able to interview IN-PERSON
• Hands-on experience with Hexagon, FaroArm measurement arm or similar systems.
• Knowledge of PolyWorks software with blue light/ATOS/Faro operation experience.
• Education: High School Diploma

Other Requirements

• 25%: Travel - Domestic and International (US, Canada and Mexico)
• 20%: Over-time - which covers weekends, holidays, and shutdowns, when required
• PPE: Will wear Steel Toed Shoes/Hard Hat and Safety Glasses

• Hands on experience with CAD experience.
• New model launch experience.
• Argus formability software experience.
• Operate and care for optical and physical measurement equipment individually experience.
• Ability to analyze and identify accuracy issues via color map comparisons.
• Strong computer skills and ability to create reports.
• Ability to advise technical staff and work independently to meet project goals.
• Tooling background with stamping dies, check fixtures would be desirable.

Desire/skill set for digital engineering

• Troubleshoot and care for sensitive optical, mechanical/robotic equipment.
• Ability to set/develop standardized procedures to improve efficiency.
• Ability to apply technology to help clarify problems from engineering staff given minimal direction.
• Mechanical and digital aptitude to work through equipment operation issues using 3rd party technical support off-site.
