Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Metrology Technician to conduct precision inspections across a variety of components and assemblies. You will operate metrology equipment, follow inspection plans, and generate defensible quality data in a dynamic lab environment.

With experience in CMMs and GD&T, you will support Production and R&D through receiving inspections, in-process checks, and root cause investigations, while upholding AS9100/ISO 17025 standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent technical training.
  • 2+ years of experience as a quality inspector or CMM operator.
  • Experience with metrology hand tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gages, thread gages).
  • Familiarity with CMM software; PolyWorks preferred (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CMM and other metrology equipment to perform precise measurements of parts to a defined inspection plan.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to understand measurement specifications.
  • Run existing inspection programs and create or edit simple programs using the appropriate software.
  • Perform routine calibration and maintenance checks on lab equipment, and help keep the lab clean and organized.
  • Analyze measurement data and produce clear, detailed inspection reports.
  • Identify out-of-spec results and equipment issues, and elevate appropriately.
  • Document observations and communicate findings clearly to the cross-functional teams requesting support.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance measurement efficiency and accuracy.
  • Help ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 17025).

ABOUT THE TEAM

We are looking for a skilled Metrology Technician to perform quality inspections on a wide variety of products that we design and develop. In this role you will operate metrology equipment to measure components and assemblies, working from established procedures and inspection plans to generate accurate, defensible quality data. As the Metrology lab grows, you will work across a range of equipment — Portable CMM, CNC/fixed CMM, CT scanner, laser tracker, and optical systems from manufacturers such as Hexagon, Zeiss, Keyence, and LK Metrology — supporting both Production and R&D through receiving inspections, in-process checks, and root cause investigations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training.
  • 2+ years of experience as a quality inspector or CMM operator.
  • Experience with metrology hand tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gages, thread gages, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CMM software; PolyWorks preferred (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent acceptable).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with 3D scanning or CT scanning.
  • Experience with optical measurement systems (OMM or 2D comparator).
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience with PolyWorks|DataLoop or similar metrology data management platforms.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 17025 quality systems.

US Hourly Range: $41—$54 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
