Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a calibration professional to lead our internal calibration program within the Quality Engineering team. You will partner across product development, production, and field operations to manage tracking software, schedules, and the accuracy and traceability of equipment.

You will build procedures, coordinate with vendors, train stakeholders, and ensure compliance with calibration standards and audits in a fast-paced defense tech environment.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field; Military training or experience accepted.
  • Experience managing calibration at a large organization and production environment.
  • Experience working with and managing 3rd party calibration vendors.
  • Experience improving processes and procedures, specifically around calibration, with emphasis on process creation.
  • Familiar with industry calibration standards and methods.
  • Familiarization with AS9100 and/or external auditing/compliance.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the calibration database, ensuring it is updated with location and ownership; communicate recalls to tool owners.
  • Coordinate equipment rotations to prevent resource starvation in production.
  • Manage the physical recall of devices requiring calibration.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure for equipment flagged for calibration (e.g., drop locations, intake information, 3rd party vendor instructions).
  • Create processes and procedures documenting standard calibration operations; define roles and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate calibration activities with vendors, including quotes, purchase orders, and on-site scheduling.
  • Support creation, upkeep, and communication of calibration procedures; train internal stakeholders.
  • Manage risk assessment for products affected by tools out of calibration; ensure certificates where required.
  • Ensure calibrated tooling meets required calibration standards when required by regulations or customer requirements.

About The Job

We are investing in a calibration professional to lead our internal calibration program. This role will be on the Quality Engineering team and partner across the product development organization, production organization, and field operations organizations. This role will be dynamic and full of new engagement, challenges, and opportunities to bring the core elements of success for a calibration program -- managing tracking software, schedules, accuracy and precision of equipment, equipment history, traceability methods, accreditation, and reporting. As Anduril grows, the role and support around calibration will grow too. What You'll Do
  • Manage the calibration database, ensuring it is updated appropriately, including location and ownership of tools. Communicate calibration recalls to tool owners and interested parties.
  • Coordinate equipment rotations to ensure users and production are not starved of resources.
  • Manage the physical recall of devices requiring calibration.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure for equipment flagged for calibration (e.g., drop locations for assets, standardized intake information, instructions for 3rd party vendors).
  • Create processes and procedures documenting the standard operations of the calibration program, defining roles and responsibilities for involved and interested parties.
  • Coordinate calibration activities with vendors, including requesting quotes for services, creating purchase orders, and scheduling on‑site calibration.
  • Support the creation, upkeep, and communication of calibration procedures and documented information. Manage training of internal calibration stakeholders.
  • Manage the risk assessment process for product affected by tools found out of calibration. Ensure certificates of calibration are available when required by testing standards.
  • Ensure calibrated tooling meets required calibration standards when required by regulations, customer requirements, or otherwise.
Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field. Will consider Military training or experience (PMEL, TMDE, or Electronics).
  • Experience managing calibration at a large organization and production environment.
  • Experience working with and managing 3rd party calibration vendors.
  • Experience improving processes and procedures, specifically around calibration, with an emphasis on process creation.
  • Familiar with common industry calibration standards and methods.
  • Familiarization with AS9100 and/or other external auditing and compliance agencies and standards.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a metrology department.
  • Experience creating or establishing a metrology department where one previously did not exist.
  • Experience with precise measurement tools, such as caliper, micrometer, pin gage, height gage, dial indicator, Pi tape, Deltronic pins, bore gage, optical comparator-angle/distance, fillet gage, radius gage set, surface finish chart, thread gage 2A/2B, profilometer, and groove micrometer.
  • Experience with preparing for external audits.
  • Experience with inspection processes and procedures.
US Hourly Range

$37—$49 USD
