Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Tampa, FL is seeking a Metrology Technician to calibrate and maintain critical instruments used in production, utilities, and labs.

This on-site role requires adhering to GMP/GDP standards, precise documentation, and the ability to work with test equipment and PPE in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or internship preferred.
• 2 years of calibration or maintenance experience, pharma/GMP exposure is a plus.
• Understanding of calibration principles and traceability requirements.
• Ability to work with tools and test equipment and troubleshoot under supervision.
• Strong documentation accuracy and attention to detail.
• Work in environments requiring PPE with possible weekend or after-hours support.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and access elevated spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled calibrations and minor instrument adjustments in production, utilities, and labs.
• Document calibration results using certified standards and software to GMP/GDP standards.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and support deviation investigations.
• Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with vendors and supervise contracted calibration services.
• Assist in updating SOPs and maintenance plans to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Follow safety and environmental protocols during calibration tasks.
