Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Metrology Technician to join our Concord, NC team on a fully onsite basis. The role begins on first shift with transition to second shift and supervisory duties as you gain experience.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years calibration experience in a regulated environment, a two-year technical degree, and a solid grasp of GMP/Life Science controls. This contract-to-hire position emphasizes safety, quality, and hands-on calibration work close to major NC life science clients.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years calibration experience, preferably in regulated environments.
  • GMP/Life Science understanding preferred.
  • On-site role in Concord, NC with shift progression.
  • Heavy emphasis on safety and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Complete calibrations, qualifications, and preventive maintenance with proper GxP documentation.
  • Perform calibrations including flow, conductivity, pH, mass, and dimensional checks with guidance.
  • Handle and maintain equipment and testing standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair with focus on scheduled calibrations and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with client site safety requirements.
  • Develop solutions by assessing client environments and requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Complete calibrations, qualifications, and preventive maintenance with accurate and timely GxP documentation, adhering to company or client-specific policies and procedures.
  • Perform calibrations including flow, conductivity, pH, mass, and dimensional calibrations with guidance.
  • Handle and maintain company and client equipment, including testing and standards equipment.
  • Learn to troubleshoot and perform repairs, focusing primarily on scheduled calibrations and maintenance events.
  • Proactively assess project safety concerns and ensure compliance with all client site safety requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions by strategically assessing client environments, needs, and requirements.
Essential Skills
  • 2+ years of calibration experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce detailed reports referencing standards or established limits/parameters.
  • Experience with calibration tasks including loop checks, humidity, temperature, and pH checks.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to make independent decisions within a defined scope of work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Pharmaceutical or military experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with 4-20mA transmitters (loop calibrations) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding and application of GMP's and Life Science Industry regulations.
  • Thorough electrical panel knowledge and safety practices.
  • A two-year degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent military training.
Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role situated in a greenfield construction setting. Candidates should be prepared for a heavy construction presence, emphasizing the importance of safety and awareness in the environment. Steel-toed boots are required, and reimbursement is available for this requirement.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Concord, NC.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
