Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Tier 3 Metrology Senior Technician to support government projects and shape metrology practices.

You’ll develop calibration programs, ensure policy compliance, and drive efficient laboratory operations end-to-end. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in metrology or equivalent, 5+ years at Tier 3 level, and a TS/SCI with polygraph; US citizenship is required.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

• As a Tier 3 Metrology Technician, the work you’ll do at GDIT supports the mission of our customer.

• Develops and maintains metrology policies and procedures and ensures they support customer mission requirements and objectives.

• Manages the development and administration of metrology schedule and calibration requirements; may have budget responsibilities.

• Keeps well-informed of new metrology technologies and industry best practices and trends and then plans and advises for implementation.

• Familiar with American National Standards for Calibration including ANSI/NCSL Z540, ANS/ISO/IEC 17025

• Maintains knowledge of relevant Metrology/PMEL techniques and Calibration laboratory practices

• Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite and familiarity of Fluke MET/Team, Fluke MET/CAL, Keysight TME, and other tools and equipment

• Oversee metrology process to meet customer mission objectives effectively and economically.

• Manages vendor relationships and billing reconciliations.

• Provides guidance and solutions to ensure metrology needs align with customer mission requirements.

• Participates in special metrology projects as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical education, training, expertise, and experience in metrology and calibration
• Experience: 5+ years of related Tier 3 level metrology experience
• Technical skills: metrology techniques, metrology software, and metrology laboratory calibration of various test and measurement equipment assets and tools
• Security clearance level: TS/SCI with polygraph
• US citizenship required
• Role requirements: Full time / onsite at Government facility

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
