Job summary

Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Metrology Process Development Engineer to start up, develop, and optimize metrology processes for future memory products across device flows and layer stacks. You will validate new measurement techniques and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to improve accuracy and throughput.

You will work with cross-functional groups to calibrate systems, automate measurements, and advance process characterization for technology transfers to production

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of key semiconductor process metrics needed for characterization, optimization, and line control.
• Excellent digital literacy including MS Office, JMP, and Python.
• Practical experience using AI to enable fast solutions.
• Strong data analysis skills and a high level of attention to detail.
• The ability to work as an individual contributor on projects or in collaboration with a team; strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Driving the understanding of new metrology technology and measurement techniques to ensure measurement capabilities align with roadmaps.
• Partnering with metrology equipment vendors on software/hardware improvements and new measurement techniques.
• Optimizing and maintaining calibration of metrology systems supporting technology development.
• Working with process development/integration engineers to optimize measurements for new device processes and layer stacks.
• Developing applications on next generation processes and technologies within Fab 4 and qualification for tech transfers to production fabs.
• Evaluations of new metrology tools to determine cost of ownership and accuracy for R&D and manufacturing.
• Crafting and optimizing layout of metrology targets to enable measurement capability and quality.
• Improving automation, throughput, and precision while maintaining integrity.
