Job summary

Vulcan Elements is seeking a Metrology Lead to own the measurement system strategy from pilot to high-volume production. You will collaborate with Analytical Laboratory, R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure product quality and measurement readiness.

The role emphasizes defining CTQ characteristics, developing inspection methods, implementing SPC, and transferring qualified systems to Benson manufacturing, with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 alignment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical discipline.
7+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, metrology, or measurement systems.
Strong experience in analytical method development.
Strong experience with MSA and SPC.
Experience selecting and qualifying metrology equipment.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and measurement system requirements.
Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory principles.
Experience supporting new product introduction and manufacturing scale-up.
Excellent statistical analysis and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage the company's metrology strategy and measurement system roadmap.
Lead selection, procurement, installation, and qualification of metrology equipment.
Develop inspection methods, sampling plans within Control Plans in collaboration with the Analytical Laboratory.
Perform Gauge R&R, bias, linearity and stability studies; establish measurement uncertainty.
Implement SPC strategies and analyze quality data for process improvements.
Standardize measurement methods across facilities and lead transfer to Benson manufacturing.
Create SOPs, work instructions, and training materials; support ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 compliance.
