Intel in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a motivated Module Equipment Technician to join our state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor manufacturing team. This on‑site role supports module equipment, performs maintenance, and collaborates with engineering to improve processes on Shift 8 (evenings).

The position targets early‑career professionals or recent graduates, offering hands‑on exposure to equipment, troubleshooting, and documentation in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, optical engineering, physics, electrical engineering, computer science or another applied engineering discipline with no experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM related to Semiconductor Manufacturing with 2+ years of equipment maintenance experience
  • Associate degree in STEM related to Semiconductor Manufacturing with 2+ years of equipment maintenance experience or Associate with 6+ years maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma or GED with 2.5+ years related maintenance experience or 3+ years technical/trade cert or 4+ years hands-on experience or 6+ years hands-on including military experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide sustaining support for module equipment and components, including installation and qualification of new equipment
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting for module equipment and components
  • Design tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing operations
  • Collaborate with engineering on repair development to ensure manufacturability

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Module Equipment Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Arizona, US. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early‑career professional to gain hands‑on experience in a world‑class semiconductor manufacturing environment. In this role, you will play a critical part in keeping our advanced manufacturing equipment running at peak performance, supporting engineering teams, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact production outcomes.

This position is assigned to Shift 8, a compressed evening work schedule. Employees typically work a 2-day, 3-day, or 4-day workweek with extended daily shifts. More than 50% of scheduled work hours occur between 3:30 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight). Specific workdays, hours, and overtime eligibility will be determined in accordance with business needs and applicable federal, state, and local laws.

This role requires regular onsite presence at our Arizona facility to fulfill essential job responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide sustaining support for module equipment and components, including installation and qualification of new equipment
  • Execute maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities for module equipment and components, including dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and reassembling equipment according to schematics, repair manuals, and specifications
  • Design and develop relevant tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing operations
  • Partner with engineering teams on repair development procedures to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency
  • Create detailed documentation of operational and maintenance procedures to support knowledge sharing and compliance
  • Interface with engineering teams and report schedule updates to management on a regular basis
  • Support engineering with module equipment troubleshooting through data analysis and controlled experimentation to improve module availability and performance
  • Collaborate with engineers to support new equipment installations, sustaining activities, and process improvement initiatives
  • Partner with the manufacturing floor team to ensure factory commitments are met on time
  • Operate equipment as required and make engineering evaluations of equipment and quality issue escalations, particularly during off‑shift hours

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. This Position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, optical engineering, physics, electrical engineering, computer science or another applied engineering discipline with no experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field related to Semiconductor Manufacturing — with 2+ years of equipment maintenance experience
  • Associate degree in a STEM field related to Semiconductor Manufacturing with 2+ years of equipment maintenance experience; or an Associate degree with 6+ years of maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma or GED with one of the following:
    • 2.5+ years of related equipment maintenance experience in a semiconductor or manufacturing environment
    • 3+ years of technical/trade certification or 3+ years of technical experience
    • 4+ years of hands‑on technical experience, including military technical experience
    • 4+ years of Field Service Engineer‑level semiconductor equipment maintenance experience
    • 6+ years of hands‑on experience, including military technical experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ months of experience in one of the following:
    • Developing new optical metrology or other tooling/machining development through new sensor development, algorithm improvements as well as creative hardware change.
    • Geometrical dimensional and tolerancing.
    • Mechanical drawing, CAD software to read and design mechanical parts.
    • Programming with structured language such as Visual Basic, Python, MATLAB or C/C++.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $51,710.00 - 99,770.00 USD (Hourly Role)
