Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks a Metrology engineer to support design and manufacturing through advanced measurement. You will collaborate with global teams on standard platforms and help ensure GD&T integrity across new products.

You will develop inspection strategies, fixtures, and metrology programs, leveraging CMMs, vision systems, and 3D scanning to meet precision goals. Strong CAD and ND product experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher related to engineering, design, or manufacturing.
• 3–5 years experience in new product design or manufacturing of mechanical components with measurement knowledge.
• ASME Y14.5 GD&T knowledge and experience.
• Experience with CMMs, vision systems, or 3D scanning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a global team on standard measurement platforms and processes.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure GD&T and design intent are captured.
• Support NPD in metrology through sample measurements, evaluation feedback, and supplier evaluations.
• Document and edit programs in metrology labs (CALYPSO, Polyworks, PC-DMIS).
• Develop inspection strategies and fixtures to minimize measurement error.

We create Best in Class products by leveraging advanced analysis tools, state-of-the-art quality controls and cross-functional agility.You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:Collaborate with a global team on standard measurement platforms and processes.Participate in design reviews to ensure proper GD&T application and design intent is fully capturedSupport Engineering New Product Development in Metrology through sample measurements, measurement evaluation feedback, reverse engineering and early supplier measurement capability evaluations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams reviewing conformance to specifications, suppliers’ measurement risks and leads technical dimensional measurement planning.Document, and edit programs utilized in metrology labs such as CALYPSO, Polyworks, PC-DMIS, etc. and serves as technical expert for metrology inspection.Develop turnkey inspection strategies to meet business needs for the corporation.Develop and design holding fixtures and gages to ensure minimum measurement error during inspection.Use statistics to analyze measurements standards and processes to provide accurate and repeatable measurement strategies. Experience running R&R studies and troubleshooting poor results.
