Travel up to 10% may be required. Applicants should have a BS in engineering and 2–5 years in reliability/quality, with experience in DOE, life data analysis, and tools like Minitab/ReliaSoft.

  • Develop test plans and procedures for product validation.
  • Analyze data and present findings using statistical methods (Weibull, reliability distributions).
  • Ensure timely failure reporting and effective corrective/preventive actions.

The Reliability Engineer I is a critical member of the New Product Development Team contributing entry level to intermediate engineering skills. Throughout a product's development cycle, this position requires strong cross-functional communication skills and analytical expertise to help launch new and exciting solutions that meet user needs. You will work in a fast-paced environment to innovate new products as a member of a cross-functional team.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduct Development:Lead teams for new product designs and engineering changes with respect to product reliability, user requirements and warranty informationIsolate and identify “critical to quality” (CtQ) user need requirements on mechanical and electrical design features; and all product component interactionsTrack multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee Tool process.Participate and collaborate on project teams involving Marketing and Engineering leading in all aspects of reliability and testingTesting / Analysis:Develop test plans and procedures based on new or established products, to ensure product meets customer requirementsCollaborate with test laboratories to implement test plans/procedures ensuring full test completion and best practices are utilizedAnalyze, draw conclusions, report and present product information utilizing statistical techniques such as Weibull analysis, reliability distributions and matricesDraw concise, logical, written conclusions from experiments based on data analysisEnsure timely failure reporting root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA)Job RequirementsBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent field2-5 years of experience in related reliability and quality field and/or statistical engineeringExperience with or knowledge of new product development processes emphasizing testing design, manufacturing audits, quality assurance, test engineering or reliability and warranty prediction capabilitiesExperience including test development and specification creation, quality engineering fundamentals and proven experience leading a primary function within a project teamRelevant experience with Design of Experiments (Six Sigma, preferred), life data analysis, and other related statistical tools and software (i.e. Minitab, Reliasoft is a plus)Written and verbal communication skills and creative problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to travel 10% of the time is required (travel includes Domestic and International)Preferred: ASQ Reliability Engineering Certification (ASQ-CRE) or the ability and desire to achieve certificationPreferred: Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Six Sigma experience, Python experienceMilwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
