Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Project Engineer II to drive New Product Development for our Hand Tools unit. You will lead cross-functional projects with teams in Mexico and LATAM, develop plans, and balance cost, schedule, and risk to deliver innovative products.

The role requires 4+ years of experience, a BS in Engineering, and willingness to travel internationally and domestically (around 20%). A bilingual Spanish candidate is preferred and PMP/CAPM is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Fluent Spanish language abilities preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and project-management skills.
  • Knowledge of DFMA and manufacturing processes is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple small to medium scale engineering projects.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams in Mexico and LATAM.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans balancing cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Monitor project progress and provide status updates to leadership.
  • Visit manufacturing cells and suppliers for troubleshooting and alignment.
  • Apply DFMA principles and manufacturing knowledge to designs.
  • Perform root cause analysis when issues arise.

We’re just getting started!As a Project Engineer II for Milwaukee you will be utilizing your engineering skills and project management ability to innovate and execute New Product Development that support our growing Hand Tools Business Unit.Milwaukee Electric Tool offers benefits on your first day of work (health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k) and an excellent working environment that includes an on-site cafeteria, as well as a state of the art fitness facility!You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:Lead multiple small to medium scale engineering projects.Work cross-functionally with global Design, Marketing, Quality & Reliability, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Supply Chain departments in Mexico and LATAM to deliver innovative products that provide efficiency and safety to our end users.Develop comprehensive project plans and drive project execution that balance cost, schedule, performance, and risk tradeoffs.Monitor & Track project progress and provide monthly project status updates to senior management and the project team.Regularly visit the manufacturing cells/suppliers to maintain open lines of communication with the cell/suppliers and provide troubleshooting analysis as required.Develop and Leverage technical prowess to challenge and quickly guide cross functional team through risk mitigation, including but not limited to:Design for Manufacturing (Injection Molding, Forging, Casting, Stamping, Machining, Grinding, etc.)Material selection and heat treatmentsTolerance stacks and iterative design and part reviewRoot cause analysisWhat TOOLS you’ll bring with you:Fluency in Spanish preferredBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent is required. Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering.Ability to travel to Internationally & domestically several times of year is required (20% travel).Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience.Ability to manage several simultaneous projects is required.Highly developed mechanical aptitude is required including a broad knowledge of engineering materials used in hand tools, and an understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with these materials.To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter who has a strong problem-solving skill set and understands design, testing, and manufacturing processes (injection molding, forging, grinding, stamping, heat treatment, machining, etc.).Able to provide candid overview of upcoming workload and comfortable escalating potential resource bottlenecks.Understanding of DFMA and various cost drivers associated with materials, labor & overhead is required.PMP/CAPM certification is a plus but not required.We provide these great perks and benefits:Robust health, dental and vision insurance plans.Generous 401 (K) savings plan.Education assistance.On-site wellness, fitness center, food, and coffee service. · And many more, check out our benefits site HERE .Milwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
