Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Metrology Engineer to define and improve measurement systems for complex assemblies. You will design, validate, and implement measurement methods, gages, and inspection strategies, working across design, manufacturing, and quality teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with CMMs, 3D scanners, laser trackers, GD&T ASME Y14.5, and metrology software such as PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, or Calypso. Candidates must read engineering drawings and obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical training with hands-on metrology experience.
  • Working knowledge of dimensional metrology principles and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience with CMM and metrology software; PolyWorks preferred (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent).
  • Experience with CMM, portable CMM, 3D scanning, laser tracker, CT, or optical systems.
  • Familiarity with FAI and MSA/Gage R&R.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Good written and verbal communication across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, validate, and implement measurement methods, inspection programs, and gages for parts, assemblies, and processes.
  • Interpret and apply GD&T; develop inspection plans reflecting design intent.
  • Perform FAI and MSA/Gage R&R to confirm capability.
  • Integrate metrology early with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to reduce risk.
  • Provide guidance to Metrology Technicians on programming, fixturing, and challenging measurements.
  • Troubleshoot systemic measurement issues and design solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support RCCA, MRB, and incident management on metrology-related quality issues.
  • Design and specify inspection gages, including Go/No-Go and automated inspection systems.
  • Analyze measurement data with statistics and report findings to stakeholders.
