Job summary

Lee Industrial Contracting in Pontiac, MI is seeking an experienced metrology technician to operate laser trackers and ensure precise alignment of industrial equipment. The role requires FARO ION experience and hands-on calibration of CMM tools.

Responsibilities include surveys, data processing, and maintaining metrology equipment, with travel and on-call duties as needed. A driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience operating laser trackers; FARO ION experience required.
• Experience with alignment, layout, and portable CMM tools, including FARO Arms.
• Proficiency in PolyWorks and AutoCAD.
• Experience using and calibrating micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and bore gauges.
• Strong understanding of press mechanics, machining, and equipment fit and function.
• Portable machining experience preferred.
• Ability to work off shifts, remain on call, and travel as needed.

• Perform shaft-straightness, alignment, line-bore, and machinery-positioning surveys.
• Monitor operating and milling equipment.
• Inspect the mechanical fit and function of industrial presses and machinery.
• Operate and calibrate laser trackers and precision measuring instruments.
• Process survey data and prepare reports.
• Inspect and maintain metrology equipment.
• Valid Driver's License
