The Metropolitan Action Commission is seeking a full-time driver to support the Head Start program in Nashville. This role involves transporting children and ensuring their safety, conducting vehicle inspections, and performing maintenance duties. This is a full-time, non-civil service position with the Metropolitan Action Commission (MAC). The role involves driving for the Head Start program, performing vehicle maintenance, delivering meals, acting as a bus monitor, and transporting children, parents, staff, and equipment safely and efficiently. Responsibilities also include conducting vehicle inspections, attending meetings and training, and ensuring children's safety during transportation.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver license with 'F' endorsement, and the ability to drive a 14-passenger bus. Candidates must have a safe driving record within the past three years, be in good physical condition, and able to lift up to 75 pounds. All applicants are subject to background checks and drug testing. The position requires compliance with DHS rules and state law when transporting preschool children.
