Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a Meter Reader to support field data collection for multiple customers and maintain strong relationships with customers. You will report to a supervisor and help gather data, coordinate with field teams, and assist with new account setup.

High school diploma or GED is required; energy/utility experience is a plus. Proficiency with MS Office and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

• Some energy, utility or related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly reporting to Supervisor.
• Professional service to account relationships.
• Building customer relationships as a key member of management team.
• Gathering and consolidating data from varied sources.
• Managing field meter data collection for multiple customers on a daily and monthly basis.
• Support to field inquiry requests to help manage problem resolution for customer utility-billing issues.
• Coordinating and assisting with field information for new customer account creation.
• Support researching and identifying field procedures for the authorizations of access to customer’s meter locations and utility information.
• Proactively identify abnormal metering situations and advise the Energy Management team.
• Supporting administrative needs of the business, including but not limited to, accounting, reporting, the sales process, data entry, back-up phone support, and general administration.
• Help out with other related maintenance work when necessary.
• GIS new and existing water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Assist on riding the garbage truck when needed.
• On call rotation with the maintenance staff.

Position Purpose:

The Meter Reader will be a key part of the team responsible for collecting meter information and maintaining good working relationships with all customers.
