Job summary

Gray Media's KXII 12 in Sherman, TX is seeking a weekend meteorologist to join the market's experienced First Alert weather team. The right candidate will anchor weekend evenings and serve as the primary fill-in for AM & PM weekdays.

The role requires a meteorology degree and on-air experience, with a focus on digital forecasting and social video. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sherman, Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences.

• Expertise in digital forecasting and social media

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary weather anchor for the station's weekend newscasts
• Fill in on the air in weekday AM & PM newscasts as needed (including holidays)
• Serve as CTV anchor/producer for 30-minute First Alert Weather Extra show three nights/week
• Serve as primary talent for digital & social video forecasts and live broadcasts
• Design weather graphics for the department with an emphasis on "lifestyle forecasting"
• Produce weather graphics and information to regularly update our website, apps, and social media platforms
• Occasionally report live on weather conditions
• Occasionally report on weather-related events and topics

Job Summary/Description:

KXII 12, the weather leader in the Texoma region, is looking to add a weekend meteorologist to the market's most experienced First Alert weather team. The right candidate will have a combination of broadcast, digital, and technological expertise to tell weather stories on a variety of platforms. This meteorologist will anchor our weekend evening newscasts, as well as serve as the primary fill-in both AM & PM weekdays. This is a full-time position based out of our studios in Sherman, Texas, located between Dallas and Oklahoma City in the heart of Tornado Alley.
