Job summary

Crucial Link in Louisville, KY is seeking a Metal Finishing Technician to join our fast-paced metal department. You will polish, buff, and sand metal, shape pieces from instructions and drawings, and inspect finished work with careful attention to detail.

This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. Pay ranges from $17 to $21 per hour, based on experience and skill. Benefits include medical options, 401(k), PTO and paid holidays; note that overtime begins only after direct hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints is a plus.
• Must pass Pulmonary Function Test and drug screen.
• Physically able to lift over 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail with good English communication.
• Experience in ranch, autobody, or metal fabrication is a plus.

Responsibilities

METAL FINISHING TECHNICIAN

Location: Louisville, KY.

Pay : $17-21/hr depending on experience and skill

JobType: Full time

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Other things to note: No PTO or Paid holidays & no Overtime till directly hired by Company.

Summary

Will work in our Metal Department being a part of a fast-paced team environment, the ability to function independently or semi-independently is required. This department is responsible for some of the final steps necessary for producing unique pieces of art for artists around the country and across the world. This position will occasionally be needed to help in related departments and the desire for most employees is to cross train.

Job Duties

• Polishing, buffing, and sanding metal
• Shaping, creating, assembling new pieces
• Understanding instructions and drawings to shape pieces
• Inspecting completed pieces with strong attention to detail.
• Using measuring equipment and hand tools
• Exhibiting strong attention to detail
• Participating in preventative maintenance and cleaning of foundry equipment; maintaining clean and organized workspace
• Ensuring safety at all times by wearing appropriate protective gear and following established procedures
• Performing other duties as assigned throughout the facility.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Steel Toed shoes required
• Must pass Pulmonary Function Test and drug screen
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience with ranch work, autobody work, hard work in general all a plus!
• Previous foundry construction, welding, metal fabrication, or industrial experience a plus!
• Ability to read blueprints a plus!
• Be able to lift over 50 pounds regularly throughout shift
• Physical stamina required- will be standing, moving, lifting for duration of 10 hours work shift
• Must pass Pulmonary Function Test and drug screen
• Minimal math skills (adding and subtracting)
• Strong communication skills- must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions
• Maintain reliable and fast work pace consistent with production goals/timelines for quality and quantity
• Familiarity with metal finishing tools and measuring equipment.
• May be exposed to noise, dust, airborne particles, fumes, smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels)
