Job summary

Ilocatum in New Castle, PA, seeks a Technical Sales Representative to blend technical expertise with relationship-building. You will act as a technical advisor to customers, understand needs, and tailor solutions in steel ingot and billet production.

You will work closely with the Director of Sales to drive growth, manage orders from inquiry to delivery, and support pricing, planning, and process improvements while traveling locally, nationally, and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering; Metallurgy or Materials Science strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years of sales or marketing experience in the steel or metals industry is a plus.
• Solid technical foundation with the ability to translate complex processes into customer-focused solutions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally (25-30%).

Responsibilities

• Engage customers as a technical advisor and trusted partner to understand needs and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with Director of Sales to drive business across units and ensure order-to-delivery satisfaction.
• Review inquiries, establish pricing, and develop process plans for steel ingot and billet production.
• Oversee orders, inventory, and track profitability to guide strategic decisions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance sales and customer service.
