Hatch is seeking a Study Manager to join our Metals Project Development team in Salt Lake City. You will lead early-stage studies (FEL1–FEED) and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver world-class concept designs and value-driven solutions for metals projects.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in mining/metals project studies, strong planning, earned value management, and excellent stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Typical 10+ years of experience managing studies or projects in the mining and metals industry.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and organize at an advanced level.
• Knowledge of project management fundamentals, including earned value management.
• Ability to adapt to constant change and handle high-pressure situations to support the team.
• Strong communication skills across all levels including client representatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring Hatch values and safety are embedded throughout opportunity identification, pursuit, and delivery setup.
• Developing project scopes, resource estimates, schedules, and budgets.
• Setting up progress measurement and delivery systems.
• Active management of progress through earned value, cost, and schedule performance metrics.
• Managing multidisciplinary teams across engineering, controls, procurement, and environmental disciplines.
• Embedding value optimization practices and conducting design reviews and risk analyses.
• Ensuring compliance with engineering standards, environmental objectives, and safety protocols.
• Fostering communication with clients, study teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborating with commodity directors and regional/global leadership on opportunities.
