Job summary

Jefferies, a leading global investment banking firm, seeks a Mid-Level Investment Banking Associate to join its Metals & Mining coverage team in New York. The role focuses on transaction execution, industry analysis, and client development across global metals and mining clients.

You will lead day-to-day execution of M&A, debt, and equity processes, build detailed financial models, and coordinate with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of investment banking experience (M&A, capital markets, or corporate finance).
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills; ability to independently produce high-quality analytical work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; client materials should be polished.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of M&A, debt, and equity transactions, including process management, due diligence, and valuation workstreams (DCF, comps, LBOs).
• Build and review detailed financial models, including asset-level operating models for mining assets.
• Coordinate with internal partners and external advisors (legal, consultants, lenders, senior bankers).
• Participate in client pitch meetings and support ongoing relationship development across corporates and sponsors.
