Job summary

SGS East Syracuse laboratory in New York is seeking a Lab Technician to join the Metals team. The role involves preparing samples with accuracy following SGS analytical SOPs, working both independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met.

You will perform routine operation, maintenance and calibration of prep instruments, input and maintain technical information, and document your work in the Laboratory Notebook while adhering

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories or hands-on work.
• Associates Degree in Chemistry or similar field with 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Advanced English language skills are required.
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analysis according to SGS SOPs using department-specific instrumentation.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance and calibration of prep equipment.
• May assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Input and maintain technical information to support lab operations.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook and comply with standards and procedures.
• Adhere to internal policies and procedures; perform other duties as required.
