Job summary

Thames Water Laboratories seeks a Metals Team Laboratory Analyst to dry and grind soil and sludge samples, prepare them for analysis, and progressively perform metals analyses with timely reporting. You will follow QMS protocols, maintain thorough records, and support safety initiatives within the lab.

The role involves a 5-day pattern (Mon-Sat), 9:00–17:00, with training completing before Saturday shifts. A-level science background is required, and a team-focused, safety-conscious applicant is

Qualifications

• Have a minimum of an A-level education with science experience.
• Experience in a routine sample testing or laboratory environment would be beneficial but not essential.
• Value being part of a team to deliver perfect customer service.
• This role will require some physicality and repetitive physical effort in preparing & handling customer soils and sludge samples; any prospective candidate should be capable of this.
• Comfortable working to set protocols and methodologies within our QMS.

Responsibilities

• Primary focus on physical drying and grinding of customer soil and sludge samples.
• Prepare customer samples for analysis on instrumentation.
• Carry out analysis of Metals samples and report test results within required timeframes.
• Maintain full records of customer samples and ensure high-quality documentation.
