Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Metals/Films Process Development Engineer (Evergreen) in Boise, Idaho, to join the advanced materials team.

The role focuses on identifying and solving assembly process issues, evaluating deposition techniques (ALD, CVD, PVD), and leading yield improvement programs. A PhD and strong collaboration skills are required; relocation is TBD.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar field.
  • Background in a variety of thin film deposition techniques, particularly ALD, CVD, and/or PVD.
  • Experience with several surface analysis techniques, such as XPS, AFM, XRD, AES, EBSD, and/or SIMS.
  • Understanding of solid-state physics including transition metal oxides, metals, surfaces, and interfaces, and fundamental challenges in materials exploration for device scaling.
  • Proven communication and teamwork experience.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, diagnose and resolve assembly process related problems
  • Coordinate and execute process, equipment and material evaluation/optimization initiatives and implement changes at process step

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding chemical kinetics and their direct application to CVD, ALD, PVD deposition processes in various deposition reactors
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques; evaluating and making insightful inferences from large amounts of various types of data, such as electrical and physical analysis
  • Planning and carrying out effective, well-designed experiments and writing clear, concise reports detailing the results
  • Ability to lead projects effectively, making the best use of available resources
  • Passion for learning new skills as needed
