Job summary

Job description

As a Process Engineer you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, workflow and yield, and for reducing costs and managing risks by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving assembly process problems using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, or SPC/FDC methodologies.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, diagnose and resolve assembly process related problems.
  • Coordinate and execute process, equipment and material evaluation/optimization initiatives and implement changes at process step.
  • Lead or participate in continuous yield improvement and cost reduction activities.
  • Validate and fan out new process baseline qualification, including new process, tools and/or materials for new product introduction.
  • Support SPC/FDC/RMS/APC.
  • Support site‑to‑site portability.
  • Manage and audit material suppliers to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives.
  • Support internal and external audits.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
  • Background in a variety of thin‑film deposition techniques, particularly ALD, CVD, and/or PVD.
  • Experience with several surface analysis techniques, such as XPS, AFM, XRD, AES, EBSD, and/or SIMS.
  • Understanding of solid‑state physics, including transition‑metal oxides, metals, surfaces and interfaces, and the fundamental challenges in materials exploration for device scaling.
  • Proven communication and teamwork experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding chemical kinetics and their direct application to CVD, ALD, PVD deposition processes in various deposition reactors.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques.
  • Ability to evaluate and make insightful inferences from large amounts of electrical and physical data.
  • Planning and carrying out effective, well‑designed experiments and writing clear, concise reports detailing the results.
  • Ability to lead projects effectively, making the best use of available resources.
  • Passion for learning new skills as needed.
