Job summary

Applied Technical Services, LLC is seeking a Metallurgist/Polymer Specialist I to conduct material analyses, report findings, and support failure analyses across metals, polymers, coatings, and related systems. You will use optical and electron microscopy and other lab instrumentation to characterize materials, interpret results, and generate clear customer reports.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Polymer Science, or related Physical Science discipline.
• 0-2 years in a metallurgical lab; academic/research or internship experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GLP, ISO lab requirements, and safe lab procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform material testing and data interpretation.
• Write technical reports for customers.
• Consult with customers to determine analysis needs and background information.
• Characterize materials using microscopy and analytical techniques.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Maintain chemical and equipment inventories and adhere to quality systems.
