Job summary

Nucor Steel Kingman, LLC is seeking a qualified Metallurgist to join the team in Kingman, AZ. The role focuses on safety, quality, and continuous improvement across rolling and melting; you will support development initiatives and employ SPC tools to enhance process performance.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering with preference for metallurgical engineering and experience with data analysis and reporting using SQL/Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Preferred degree in metallurgical engineering.
• Experience in data analysis, reporting, and process monitoring is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement of rolling and melting processes.
• Support process and product development, training efforts, and use of SPC tools.
• Identify quality trends, root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Roll Mill and Melt Shop to define processes meeting customer expectations and division objectives.

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Kingman is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Metallurgist. Principal duties include participating in safety, commercial excellence, and continuous improvement of the rolling and melting processes, as well as driving overall quality improvement throughout the facility. The successful candidate will support process and product development initiatives, training efforts, and the use of statistical process control tools. The Quality team works to identify quality trends, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions that support product quality and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with individuals from a variety of technical, operational, and leadership backgrounds. They are confident in asking questions, proactive in seeking understanding, attentive to details, and capable of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities. This teammate will partner with the Roll Mill and Melt Shop to establish clearly defined processes that meet customer expectations while supporting the division's objectives for safety, quality, productivity, and profitability.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
