The Metallurgist is responsible for defining metallurgical requirements for orders, providing technical support to both internal and external customers, and assisting or leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Metallurgist Responsibilities:

1. Perform metallurgical analyses of the products’ (skelp / steel coil) mechanical and chemical properties, reviewing this data against customer technical specifications.
2. Act as a liaison between vendors and customers within the quality department.
3. Participate in meetings to resolve and improve quality and service.
4. Conduct on-site vendor audits of production and testing practices.
5. Lead investigations of production problems related to metallurgical or vendor issues.

Metallurgy Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 3 or more years’ experience working with metals/alloys in an industrial setting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience applying industry regulations/standards related to metallurgy and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
