Job summary

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SI) in Austin, TX, seeks a Metallurgical Technician for its state-of-the-art testing laboratory. You will perform metallurgical failure analysis, prepare samples, and document results using metallurgical and digital microscopes.

You will support field condition assessments on mechanical components, with travel of about 2–3 months annually, and assist NDE personnel. A hands-on, detail-oriented mindset and ability to operate basic lab tools are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Document samples and prepare them for metallurgical examination.
• Prepare samples (cutting, mounting, polishing, etching) and document with microscopes.
• Perform laser scans as needed to record geometry.
• Maintain lab equipment and systems.
• Support field condition assessment with NDE collaboration; travel 2–3 months per year.
