Position Overview:

As a Material/Metallurgical Lab Technician, you'll perform all duties related to chemical analysis, testing, and investigations on metal samples, alloys, or other process materials for product certification, metallurgical control, developing new or improved alloys, or production methods.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Operation and maintenance of all lab instrumentation and testing equipment following procedures.
  • Perform alloy identification of samples using lab equipment.
  • Manage and maintain data, forms, reports, testing, and communications as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, ISO17025, and other OEM standards.
  • Follow customer specifications, industry standards, quality control documents, and work instructions.
  • Participate in and perform round robin testing internally and externally.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Work hours may include evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required by management.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma with professional materials lab experience or an associate's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and leadership.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic calculations and use measuring devices.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems involving multiple variables and follow instructions in various formats.
  • Reliability: Ability to work overtime and be committed to our Chittenango, NY facility.
