Teck Resources Limited, Red Dog Operations, seeks a Metallurgical Engineering Co-op at Red Dog Mine, AK. The role offers a 4 weeks on-site / 2 weeks off rotation, with start in May 2027 and an 8-month duration.

You will work under the Senior Metallurgist and support projects in the mill and lab. Responsibilities include assisting engineers, sample prep, sludge testing, water sampling, flotation lab work, pilot plant tests, calibrating equipment, and related duties.

Qualifications

• Current college or university student pursuing Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering.
• Proficient in MS Office 2010 and Excel.
• Good organization and observation skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Prior plant and laboratory experience is an asset.
• Respirator use is required; work includes significant physical activity.

Responsibilities

• Assist the metallurgical engineers with projects.
• Sample preparation in the Bucking Room of the Assay Lab.
• Conduct sludge testing and assist with Water Treatment Plant operations.
• Collect water samples.
• Conduct flotation laboratory test work.
• Conduct small pilot plant tests.
• Calibrate moisture and sizing equipment.
• Perform other related duties as required.
