Job summary

ATI is currently seeking a Metallurgical Engineer ( Engineer II ) for our Irvine, CA location. The role focuses on developing materials applications and manufacturing technologies using fundamentals of materials science.

You will collaborate with sales, manufacturing and QA to resolve issues and meet customer requirements. Essential functions include providing metallurgical guidance, planning technology development programs, and coordinating cross-location deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented and highly motivated with good organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide metallurgical guidance using materials science for process design and production.
• Plan technology assessment and development programs to improve productivity and quality.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, sales/marketing, and engineering to qualify new materials.
• Support production-type projects under contracts with commercial or governmental customers.
• Coordinate and report project deliverables across locations to management.
• Present progress to senior leadership and ensure on-time, budget-aligned efforts.
• Assist in visits, proposals, and meetings requiring metallurgical expertise.
